This scenario details the situation around Al Qayyarah about 27 April 2016.
the article indicates that airstrikes took out the bridge at Al Qayyarah but I have left it in as I imagine that they could repair it to the extent that they could get troops across it. There are no other river crossings and until there is functionality in the game to allow for bridges to be destroyed and built, that will have to do. Either way, the river is a major feature.
The push here is for the Iraqi 15th Division to push into Makuk, the rest is open play. I couldnt find any details on a 15th Division in Wikipedia and so it might be the 5th, but its not that important, thats the main spearhead, with the front in general supported by air power and the ISIL units backed against the Tigris River.
Looks like taking Al Qayyarah represents a staging post before the advance on Mosul 60km to the North.
The US Department of Defence reported on 29 April 2016 that it had carried out airstikes 'Near Qayyarah, two strikes struck a large ISIL tactical unit, destroyed an ISIL tunnel entrance and denied ISIL access to terrain.'
