Indian surprise attack into East Pakistan before the main 1971 hostilities. The Pakistan forces responded with a counter attack but suffered heavily.
Towards the end of the battle both the Indian and the Pakistan airforce sent aircraft in. This resulted in a rare air to air dogfight which the Indians won.
Battle took place between 20–21 November 1971.
