The Bay of Pigs was a CIA backed invasion of Cuba.
The Cuban DRF is roughly correct. Im not sure if they had artillery. I have yet to reflect the aircraft that played a major role on both sides. The Cuban DRF have 8 B-26 bombers. I have beefed up the Cuban DRF marginally to reflect the fact that they were on an all or nothing mission and probably had the very best of everything. However, its worth noting that the 1st battalion is low, 1-1-3 to reflect that they didnt all get to shore after their boat was hit by rockets. Also, the Para1 have no weapons as they landed in the swamp and so have a strength factor of 0-0-3. In the light of things they have a fairly hefty tank company considering that as far as I can tell they only had 2 tanks.
I don't know the exact designation of the troops or where they landed.
I have started the Cuban forces. This game is a first for staggered deployment with troops arriving at certain turns. I have yet to work out all the permutations, for example, what if their entry hex is blocked? However, it does work. One of the effects of this is that the game overview doesnt show all the Cuban units on the map, and as such, as it stands at th emoment, thats all will be seen in the overview map, however, you can see the full spread of troops that will arive in the beligerant list, with turn arrival.
Historically the Bay Of Pigs was a failure, mainly because the people of Cuba failed to rise up aginst Castro and support the revolution. As such, The Cuban DRF, numbering about 1500 dont stand a chance as eventually the Cubans could bring to bear 25000 soldiers, 200000 militia and 9000 armed police which included tanks, artillery, rockets and airpower.
