1977
There a multiple Chadian Civil Wars. This one which essentially started in the summer of 1977 and ended in August 1978 was possibly the least significant, after my brief research.
An earlier civil war started in 1962 and went on until around 1975 when the president Tombalbaye was overthrown. He was replaced by Malloum who had ties to both north and south but by summer 1977 there was another civil war.
After 1978 when Malloum was assassinated, and this scenario ends, he was replaced but internal dissent errupted again in 1978 and the next phase started which went on from 1978 to 1982. There appears to have then been peace until 2005-2010 civil war. These are rough notes and im not certain of what happened between 1982 and 2005.
Essentially this period was defined by Libya's armament of the Northern rebels which included weapons, armoured vehicles and SA6 and SA7 surface to air missiles, or something like that.
