Khanasser - 2016 (Syrian Civil War).

Simple set up to look at the situation around Khanasser.

Khanasser is significant because it is on the road between Aleppo and Ithriyah which is used for supplies. I dont know why they cant just drive across the desert but apparently the assault on Khanasser has cut the supply line between the two places.

ISIS took Khanasser around 22 February but some hills around Khanasser were taken back on 24 February and more Syrian forces were due to arrive. Not much else is really known at the moment.

Its not clear what is happening to me, but it looks like ISIS capture an air defence battalion unit to the North West of Khanasser and that the SAA (or maybe the Tigers etc) capture the Northern towns of Nasm al Nafal and Shallal Saghirah back from the Deash. Fresh reports indicate that the Tiger Forces have entered and captured Khanasser now.
