This map shows two simultaneous advances by the Syrian Arab Army and the National Defense Forces against ISIS as well as the Free Syrian Army against ISIS.
THe Southfront site doesnt make much sense as they are both fighting ISIS but the map segment is green indicating that it is occupied by the rebel forces, but its as believable as everything else.
Looking at it I think the rough strategy is to keep groups large enough to prevent irregular attacks, ie 6 or greater. Groups smaller than that will be subject to the irregular 5+ bonus. However, stacked at 6 strength or greater they will only have an attack strength of 1 making them ineffective. They will still retreat 75% of the time, but there should be sufficient numbers to create a straight front line and force them east if not eliminate them.
ISIS have some tanks and armoured cars. They might be a bit tough but I ran out of small ISIS tank counters.
