Operation Texas - 1966 (Vietnam War 1955-1975).

Operation Texas is pretty much in the same place as Operation Utah.

It begins with the Viet Cong over running the ARVN 936th Regional Force Company outpost at Hill 141 on 18/19 March 1966.

The ARVN then attempt to send a reaction force in to support them but they get heavily shot down and most helicopters abort their landings leaving only a few on the ground.

this is then followed by a joint operation to retake the outpost and then hunt down the Viet Cong regiment.

Bit by bit the forces arrive as reinforcements.

The operation pretty much ends on 21/22 March 1966, however, there is continued activity and fighting up until 24 March when Operation Texas is concluded. However, Operation Indiana follows on 28 March 1966 when the 2nd Battalion 7th Marines were inserted on near to Vinh Loc (2), but that is so far down the line that its hard to model accuratly.
