The Second Battle of Swat was a Pakistan operation to clear the Taliban out from Mingora and then Malam Jabba and Qamabr Bazar.
It was also known as Operation Rah-e-Rast and took place between 16 May and 15 July 2009.
There were between 15,000 and 45,000 Pakistani soldiers involved in the operation against about 2,500 Taliban. Units involved include:
19th Infantry Division
Special Service Group Airborne Division
No. 11th Squadron Arrows
No. 25 Squadron Night Strike Eagles
Frontier Corps
Local tribesmen
The operation includes paratrooper insertion.
The main fighting took place between 16 May and 30 May as the Pakistani Army fought the Taliban street to street through Mingora.
It was said that about 2,000 Taliban fighters and 168 Pakistani soldiers died in the fighting.
After clearing Mingora the Pakistani Army moved on to Malam Jabba and Qamabr Bazar.

The Taliban also attacked a check post at Gul Jabba on 6 June 2009 but were repulsed.
