Shingali Kalay - 1986 (Soviet-Afghan War).

In this scenario elements of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan 9th Infantry Division are travelling from Kandahar to Ghazni but are ambushed by about 500 Mujahideen.

Some elements manage to get to Kalay where they get help from the 35th Operational Battalion based thre and acompany from KHAD. (note, to activate these units you need to enter Kalay.

From there, a flanking detachment goes directly south from Kalay whilst the remainder heads behind the Mujahideen units, behind Moradkhan Kalay where they hit them in the rear.

This scenario is translated from Russian I beleive and is fairly vague. The map is hand drawn and upside down and it was really hard to locate. Its clear that it is in Zabol Province on the Kandahar to Ghazni road, but the names of places and curve in the road dont match up. The map details Kalat, which I think can be assumed to be Kalakheyl. However, the site of the Mujahideen ambush is described as being just outside the village of Shingali-Kalay which might be Moradkhan Kalay. It could be that this scenario happened elsewhere.
