2016
This is a map to detail the events in South Yemen April 2016.
The Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula units are essentially consolidating a region in the South of Yemen. They contol most of the surrounding regions and need to capture the objectives. After they will head North West a bit.
The interesting bit about this is that its Al Qaeda clearly making ground. Further, they are essentially allied to the Yemen governent and Saudi coalition which is US backed.
I can never remeber whose who but the Houthi are essentially the ousted governemnt and the govenment are the pretenders albeit they are in control. the Houthi are loyal to the old regime and fighting to restore the rightful government but the Saudos dont want that and so are attacking them further North, and essentially not attacking the Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula units.
The South Front article inferrs that the US airstikes against Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula units are fairly poor.
I have included Yasser al Marouh as a leader just to see how that works out although will be including leaders where ever I can from now on although they only count in combat.
I have also included some US drones. The Wikipedia article mentions they are being used but I get the idea they are fairly weak and so they are just 1-0 and there are only 3 sorties. They appear on turn 4 I think.
Also, I have anotated Al Bayda, Lawdar and Mudiyah as (Hadi) because they are currently controlled by the anti-Houthi forces who are Saudi backed but they are not fighting Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.
However, the article states that Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula will want Al Bayda, Lawdar and Mudiyah next which seems odd, maybe the current occupants will just move out under some agreement.
