India and Pakistan exchange fire across the Line of Control along the Sunderbani Separation Line to the south.
From 20 July 2019 onward (6 August 2019) they exchange small arms fire and mortar/artillery fire.
The heightened tensions followed Indias decision to scrap Article 370 of the constitution and to recognise Jammu and Kashmir as an Indian state.
Jammu and Kashmir are muslim majority areas.
